On the 20th and 21st of March 2023, the AD AIR Center hosted two Copernicus Training Sessions within a larger event (Atlantic Innovation Week 2023 on Terceira Island, Azores).

The first event, “Training Course on Sentinel-3 Image Processing” aimed to promote the use and uptake of Sentinel-3 data among core national users (public administration, academia, non-governmental organizations, private sector). At the end of the course, participants are expected to have acquired a broad understanding of Sentinel-3 mission and learned how to use software and computer programming to process and visualize Sentinel-3 satellite imagery, with a focus on marine applications.

The second event, “Advanced Training Course to Explore and Uptake the Products of Copernicus Marine Services” aimed to promote the use of Copernicus Marine Service data among core national users (public administration, academia, non-governmental organizations, private sector) and to foster the uptake of this data in their routine tasks. At the end of the course, participants are expected to be able to identify relevant Copernicus data products and to use computer-based workflows (e.g. using computer programming) for data extraction to address specific ocean challenges.

The sessions were conducted in person in Portuguese, facilitated by multiple experts, and designed as hands-on practical courses.
