Copernicus data and services, for Agricultural Agencies in Poland

Speeding up the implementation of data and services provided by Copernicus Programme by two national Executive Agencies of Ministry of Agriculture: ARiMR and (KOWR)

This action aims at speeding up the implementation of data and services provided by Copernicus Programme by two national Executive Agencies of Ministry of Agriculture: Agency of Restructuration and Modernization of Agriculture (ARiMR) and National Supporter of Agriculture (KOWR) as well as by regional and local agencies, appointed to support Agricultural Sector in Poland. There is a high need of satellite data implementation by the Agricultural Agencies in Poland in order to enable them to support individual farmers in reducing the negative impact of severe droughts and other natural hazards, which are caused by climate changes. The already existing System of data processing and analysis was designed and developed according to the needs of individual farmers and in order to comply with the needs of above enlisted Institutions it needs to be adjusted and enhanced. Moreover the existing System was built on IGiK’s own serves (due to lack of DIAS infrastructure when the system was developed) and now will be transferred to DIAS in order to ensure its full operability and efficiency.

The major output of the proposed activity would be the enhancement of already existing system of Copernicus satellite data processing and analysis, developed by IGiK within ESA co-funded project, in order to make it compatible with the needs of the identified Users.

A more detailed description of the work carried out in this action can be found under Related Files below.
